Today, I installed the lower rudder tip. There are a few cuts to make and it took quite longer than expected to have an acceptable fit. I the drilled and coutersunk the holes. I'll rivet the part later because while working on it, I managed to separate the two halves where the nav light gets installed. So I took out the bolts I had glued in and glued the part together. I'll put in some new bolts another time.

I first glued the bolts for the light in the lower rudder fairing. Then I assembled the upper parts to see what has to be done so everyting looks good. As the picture shows, the right part on the rudder needs to be extended a bit and the left part on the vertical stab might need some height adjustment.

Having receivd my longer rivets, a managed to rivet the two reinforcing bars on the main bulkhead. It took longer than expected as the first rivets where botched up, and those long rivets are a pain to drill out.
But the result look quite good as the picture shows, the nes rivet being the one out of alignment.

Today i continued working on the vertical stabilizer and rudder tips, first by deburring, dimpling and countersinking the upper tips' holes.
Then I did some work on the rudder lower tip, by installing the strobe-nav light combo. As everybody before me I will have to glue in the mounting bolts as they are inaccessible once the tip is riveted to the rudder

As I cannot prime the fuselage parts, I decide to tackle the empennage tips.
The vertical stab tip is the easiest to adapt. It has to be closef off. I'll do it by inserting some foam, the add a layer of glass cloth, and finish with some filler.

The upper part of the rudder is more tricky, there is some cutting and sanding to be done.

To finish the session, I glue some aluminium strips on the backside of the tip so as to allow a better grip for the rivets.
