The parts I received in the Vans firewall forward kit for the engine breather installation didn't work for my setup. The oil filter is in the way of the hose and the aluminium tubing.
So I decided to do it may way by installing a hose all the way.
Here is the engine side behind the oil filter.

And this is the outlet going into a bowl I bought at Aircraft Spruce, but I think any sturdy bowl would be suitable.

I also fabricated new lower baffle pins.

The forward airbox upper plate needs to be redone. A few days ago I bought an aluminium sheet for that purpose so I set up to the task.
After some cutting, drilling and filing this is the result on the right side. The Vans supplied part is on the left.

I the primed the exterior of the metallic parts. I didn't prime the interior to avoid having paint flakes detach and messing up the injection servo.

I then cut and prepared the installation of the seal that will make the junction with the scoop on the cowl.

Before installing the left side scat hoses, I fabrocated some small items needed to support the hoses: a few steel straps and some small angles. The strap wraps around the hose and gets bolted to a clamp on the engine mount. The angle is needed because the strap and the clamp are pointing at 90° from each other.

This is the routing from the front ramp. I still have to fabricate or buy the hangers but not before doing a check fit with the lower cowl.

This is the left side muffler exit howe. The air is just vented overboard. If needed, it would be possible to get the air into the cabin by installing another heat-box.

After having done some cleaning in the worshop and some small tasks, I cut and installed the SCAT hose on the right side for the cabin heat.
The left side will be done after I finish the routing of all the fuel lines and after all the baffles are reinstalled.

Before reinstalling the alternator, I first bolt the oil cooler to the baffle. I also install the hoses to check the fit. The engine outlet hose can not be connected to the straight fitting I installed there as it is slightly too short. I had no elbow fitting before engine hanging.

But I have one now, so off goes the straight fitting. Installing the new fitting is not that easy with the engine hanging but it worked in the end.

The some finishing tasks on the alternator. First the bols for the main bracket get torqued ans safety-tied.

Then there are three bolts to safety-tie. The two on the left and the one far right.

For the one on the right I had a nut on a stud the starter is bolted on.

The other two bolts shouls normally be safety-tied together, however there will be some difficulties redoing this safety-tie during maintenance with the starter ring gear in the way.
So I decided to safety tie them independently using a method found on internet by installing two washer with pop rivets.
