Catégorie: Wings : Skins

The noce weather allowed to prime all the skins' interior. After having some difficulties: some droplets due to the paint reservoir not being completely closed all went quite rapidly. The longest part being the cleaning process.
As I had some leftover paint, I decided to try the aerograph bought on Ebay. It works nicely for small touch-ups as there is no paint mist and the thickness of the paint layer is very thin. I did all the main spar countersinks.

Catégorie: Wings : Fuel tanks

As ther still was no sun, I decided to drill the right fuel tank.
First the skin is drilled to the ribs, the the holes for the attach screws are enlarged and last the skin to rear baffle holes are countersunk.
This holes are not dimpled, this will allow the rear baffle to be slid into position withount any hindrance from the dimples.

Catégorie: Wings : Skeleton

This morning, while waiting for the weather to clear, I dimpled the skeleton. All the ribs and the rear spar had to be dimpled. Now the skeleton is quasi ready to get all the elements, I just have to touch up some spot with primer and to verify that everything is square/

Catégorie: Wings : Main spar

The weather being turned towards rain and priming being out of question, I have decided to coutersink the main spar. The top row countersinks will receive the leading edge skin dimples and the bottom row is for the wing upper skin dimples. A long task as there are around 450 coutersinks per spar.
