Today, I begun working on the brake equipment by installing some of the fittings. Here the left side with the black hoses going to the parking brake valve and the white hoses coming from the right pedales. Here, the white hoses between the two pedal sets. The end of the hoses are not finished as once done the bolt won't go through the bushing in the rib/ I also installed the fittings on the parking brake valve. Before tackling the installation of the fuel lines, I redo the safety wiring of the aileron trim. It looks much neater now. To redo the fuel lines, I changed the method. I was installing the line from the outside. I now I did it from the inside, it worked better. First all the bends below the fuel valve are done, they can be done on the bench. Then the line is installed in the fuselage, the bends after the gear leg support are done using a spring. The tubing is then cut to the minimum length allowing the flaring. Here the right side is done, due to my multiple tries I don't have enough tubing left to do the left side. Working time on this subpart Today : 2h (Total : 157h) |

Today's goal was to install the aileron trim. The parts had already been prepared but it nevertheless took a long time. But first I replaced the brass bushing on the right stick. The fit was a bit sloppy and the stick had some play. Then I installed the trim, the servo and the springs. All this with limited access and the necessity to disassemble a few parts. The springs interfere with the seat ribs, some filing takes care of it. The springs are connected to the trim arm via safety wire, I'm not very happy with the results, I'll redo them later. I finished the day by drilling the stick for the wiring. There will be nine conductors going to the grip (five for the trims, two for the push-to-talk, and two for the autopilot). For the time being, the hole is only 1/4" (maximum allowed is 3/8) and I want to keep it as small as possible. Working time on this subpart Today : 5h (Total : 155h) |

Only one hour in the workshop, but not much done; I tried to redo my fuel lines, but the bends didn't come out right. So I'll tackle the problem later with different tools. Working time on this subpart Today : 1h (Total : 150h) |

A few parts were ready to be riveted, so I started with these. First the small angles the panel will be bolted on. Then the two firewall reinforcing parts. The grey color will be used for the visible interior parts (except the panel). It's a hammered effect paint. And last, the parking brake valve support bracket.
