Before sanding and priming the floors, I made some parts that will be used to install aileron pushrod boots. Those boots will stop cold air from the wings coming into the cabin. On the upper part of the photo, the parts I fabricated yesterday and one of the stick boots and on the lower part, those I fabricated today with one of the aileron pushrod boots I received with my interiors. Working time on this subpart Today : 4h (Total : 13h) |

As I have to wait for a partner to rivet the forward fuselage, I decided to work on the floors. There are six of them where the holes need to be drilled out and dimpled. Next time I'll sand and prime them. On the forward floors a small part has to be fabricated from aluminum sheet, it will hold the stick boot. It makes for good training to open a rectangular hole in a piece of aluminum. Even if the required precision id not very high, it allows to see errors not to be done when making the holes in the instrument panel for example. The lower end of the seatback is connected to the seatfloor via a piano hinge. Three hinges are in fact installed to allow the seatback to be reclined into three positions. The installation needs some time for all the measurments and drillings to be done. Those with good eyes may notice some lines and holes that should not be there below the hinges on the part on the right. It's due to an initial error in taking reference for the first holes. The nice thing is those holes are interfering with nothing, they will make the left side lighter and will be concealed under the seat cushion. Working time on this subpart Today : 1h (Total : 6h) |

Two hours work were needed to preassemble one of the seatbacks. There are quite a few parts to assemble, a lot of measuring and drilling to do. Here is the result with two vertical angles, two horizontal angles, three hinges and the lightening holes in the part in the back. Working time on this subpart Today : 2h (Total : 3h) |
