Today all I had assembled yesterday has been disassembled again : no more fuel tanks or Z-brackets on the spar. Then I reinstalled the leading edges and drilled them. The next weeks I'll deburr and dimple the leading edges and the skins to be able to prime everything if we have a sunny day or two before it's getting to cold. Working time on this subpart Today : 3h (Total : 8h) |

Today, I drilled the leading edge-fuel tank junction plate, also enlarged the tie-down ring hole. The I disassembled the leading edges for some minor adjustments. Especially the nose of the ribs needed to be worked upon to get a better position in the skin. On the first picture, there are some "spikes" on each side due to the curvature of the nose. To have a better fit, I enlarged the relief holes a bit and the small falnges could be bend a small amount. On the second picture is the end result. The leading edges have then been reassembled on the spar, waiting to be drilled. Working time on this subpart Today : 3h (Total : 5h) |

Leading edges are assembled to the main spar. The first rib is not pre-drilled, so it first gets backdrilled to the spar. Then the fuel tank junction plate is put into position. During the next session I will backdrill the junction plate and the rib, using the skin as a guide. Working time on this subpart Today : 1h (Total : 2h) |
